Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is an American-Mexican sportscaster. She is the host of SportsNation and is an anchor for SportsCenter anchor. She started working at ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of the TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta has been bilingual since the age of nine. Her skills were instrumental in securing her first position as production assistant for Univision Miami and Univision Miami, where she was a producer of numerous shows, including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then, in St. Petersburg, she was hired as a reporter by the CBS station to work as the sports reporter. In 2009 she relocated away from Texas in the Rio Grande Valley where she became a news correspondent at KNVO TV 48 Univision. In 2009, she relocated to Rio Grande Valley in Texas, where she became a journalist for KNVO 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. The duties of anchoring for weather or sports were also frequently asked for. Later, she was anchor and reporter for Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was assigned more responsibility. She did pieces on Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Aside from this, she also hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She also served as the anchor for sports on Despierta America Deportes morning show. She served in the same capacity as the show's magazine Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in Veracruz, Mexico. The family moved towards Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November of 1985. Also, she has an older sibling. There is an older sibling. They divorced shortly thereafter and her mother got married to one of the naval architects named Fabio Fajardo who died of kidney cancer in 2006. The time of summer when she was with her sister living in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured an employment. Antonietta is a senior in high school and knew exactly what career path she was looking for. So while assessing if Mount Union was right to her needs, Antonietta went to visit the campus. The campus was a dream for her. It also gave her the major that she desired. She finished school and went to the university with an undergraduate major in media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor and managing director at WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. Her professor urged her to be confident and was deeply moved by his passion for journalism.
